Tasting Notes

This Cognac has been produced from grapes harvested in 1973, from a vineyard situated in Bonneuil in the Grande Champagne region. It has been aged in a well-seasoned oak cask to protect its finesse and elegance.Delamain imposes very strict control of the ageing process of its Vintage Cognacs by placing its cellar under the rigorous control of the BNIC (Cognac official trade association). The BNIC's controller retains one of the keys of this double locked cellar while the Cellar Master keeps the other key. Naturally both need to be present to open the door. The bottling itself occurs in the controller’s presence. Only when this process has been completed in every detail and in full compliance with the law will Delamain release these Vintages Cognacs. The 1973 vintage is a benchmark in terms of age and quality, with its noble nose of dry fruits, under wood and rancio, its fruity palate and lingering mouth finish. Only 440 bottles of 1973, have been bottled in 2015 for the entire world.
