Tasting Notes

"The apple, pear and grapefruit of Mornington Peninsula chardonnay is brushed with the biscuity complexity of old French oak fermentation followed by 4 years on lees in bottle. Notes of struck flint reduction accent a tense style, charged with the taut acidity of the cool 2011 season." Tyson Stelzer - Wine Companion Published August 2017

TEN MINUTES BY TRACTOR

"Ten Minutes by Tractor is so named because its three McCutcheon, Wallis and Judd Vineyards are all 10 minutes drive from each other by tractor. It’s a very clever name and in some ways reflects the buoyant charm of Martin Spedding. At vintage, each block is triaged and batch vinified to increase blending options. Winemaking philosophy is laissez faire. Fermentation is kicked off by indigenous yeasts. The Chardonnay is barrel fermented and aged for around one year in oak prior to bottling. The Pinot Noir is matured in French oak for a period of around 12-18 months. Richard McIntyre from Moorooduc Estate assists in making the wine. The Individual Vineyard wines are the most interesting but the Reserve wines are well worth trying." Andrew Caillard MW,
