TORBRECK

RunRig Shiraz, Barossa Valley, South Australia 1997

South Australia
Size: Bottle

A harmonious marriage of bountiful black fruits and near perfect floral aromatics.

$1,580

Tasting Notes

"Dense red-purple; a powerful wine with black fruits and abundant oak on the bouquet. The concentrated and youthful palate has an array of dark cherry, redcurrant and minty fruit flavours; these flavours and the oak are still coming together." James Halliday 92pts

TORBRECK

Founded by David Powell, a former lumberjack who worked in various vineyards to hone his oenological skills, Torbreck’s first releases in 1997 of a 1995 Runrig (Shiraz/Viognier) and 1996 The Steading (Grenache/Mataro/Shiraz) were greeted with rapturous applause by critics and connoisseurs alike. The winery is now run by Senior Winemaker Craig Isbel and his team.
