“His elegant, refined Rieslings are impressive examples of the finest the Mosel region has to offer” - The Wine Advocate
Brauneberger Juffer Riesling Semi-Dry, Mosel (SC) 2011
The Fritz Haag estate is one of the most respected names in German fine wine. Quality is always the focus at this estate, and quantity is extremely limited. Today Oliver Haag of Fritz Haag estate, whose family has been engaged in viticulture at Brauneberg in Mosel since 1605, is one of the leading winemakers in Germany. Oliver took over the reins from his legendary father, Wilhelm Haag, in 2005. Already from the following vintage he received glowing praise from leading critics, and Oliver is clearly poised to continue the legacy of this estate for many years to come. The estate’s wines run the gamut from top-value QbA Rieslings up through the sweeter Prädikat wines which deliver the combination of ripeness, flavor intensity and ethereal purity that set the Fritz Haag wines apart from most other Rieslings.
