Tasting Notes

"This bridles the inherent structure of the MV6 with the cool aromatic finesse of the highest site among the estate's Main Ridge holdings. Alluding to strawberry, candied orange zest and red cherry, the fruit is lifted and floral. Pinned to a tapestry of savoury wet forest floor notes, a gauze of cobweb tannins (after 20 days on skins) and succulent acidity, this is pinot noir with velvet, filigreed racehorse and sex bomb on full display" Ned Goodwin Published 01 August 2017

TEN MINUTES BY TRACTOR

"Ten Minutes by Tractor is so named because its three McCutcheon, Wallis and Judd Vineyards are all 10 minutes drive from each other by tractor. It’s a very clever name and in some ways reflects the buoyant charm of Martin Spedding. At vintage, each block is triaged and batch vinified to increase blending options. Winemaking philosophy is laissez faire. Fermentation is kicked off by indigenous yeasts. The Chardonnay is barrel fermented and aged for around one year in oak prior to bottling. The Pinot Noir is matured in French oak for a period of around 12-18 months. Richard McIntyre from Moorooduc Estate assists in making the wine. The Individual Vineyard wines are the most interesting but the Reserve wines are well worth trying." Andrew Caillard MW,
